Pool Fun
WEEEEEEE!
Grandmother LOVES Katie Lin
2/24/05
OK all you U.S prayer warriors, we need some serious intercession. We’re starting to experience the “China Syndrome” (upset tummies). Pray especially for Ben, he has thrown up several times and is now trying to sleep. This should add some excitement to our already fun-filled nights. We’re not sure if it is the water, food or just a bug, but it breaks my heart to see him sick right now. Please pray for a quick recovery.
Katie Lin slept better last night. She enjoyed some quality time with her parents at 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. Altogether she probably slept around eight hours. She also had a very good nap this afternoon. Hopefully she is getting back into her normal routine. I think she’s had this fear that if she goes to sleep we won’t be there when she wakes up (just a theory based on the events of her brief life so far). I can’t blame her for feeling this way, but she’ll soon learn that she has nothing to fear.
Today was basically a lazy day. The boys and I went swimming this morning while Sonya and Grandmother played with KL. Then Sonya, KL and I enjoyed a lunch together while Grandmother and the boys ordered Pizza. This afternoon the boys, Grandmother and I went shopping (Wal-Mart) and toured the Town Square with our guide, Grace, and the Browns while Sonya and KL napped. Going back to work will be tough. I couldn’t wait to get back to the hotel and see my girls, but when I opened the door they were gone! They couldn’t wait any longer for us to join them for supper. I can’t blame them since we were gone for several hours.
Here are a few more things that we’ve discovered KL likes:
Cheerios – I forgot to mention this yesterday.
Apple Flavored Biter Biscuits
Playing Patty Cake
Sponge Bob – She loves Daddy’s PJ’s.
Little Taggie Blanket – Forget the blanket, she loves the tags.
Mommy, Mommy, and, oh yeah…Mommy!
Some of you have asked what KL can and cannot do. Here are a few items:
She cannot sit up by herself or crawl.
She can sit up with assistance and loves to play with her toys.
She cannot stand by herself or walk.
She can stand with help and loves to bounce, dance and giggle.
She cannot roll over.
She can cry when we try to assist her in rolling over.
She cannot hold a bottle by herself.
She can sure suck one down when Mommy or Daddy holds it for her.
She is changing everyday. She really is bonding well. We were told by other adoptive parents that this would happen, but until you’ve experienced it yourself, you can never really understand what an amazing process it really is. She also appears more and more healthy everyday. Maybe it’s just me, but her color looks better, her skin is clearing up, and she is a lot cleaner (of course that could be because her mommy is a germ freak).
Tomorrow we will tour a few more things in the city, assuming we are all feeling better. Again, please pray especially for Ben. You are all so faithful to pray and we have discovered already how God honors those prayers.
We love you all!
